Select & Dial with Hotkey
Select & Dial with Hotkey feature allows you to select a phone number from anywhere on your computer, and press hotkeys to quickly start a call via Linkus Desktop Client.
Linkus Desktop Client Requirements
To select and dial with hotkeys, your Linkus should meet the following requirements:
- Linkus App is updated.
- Linkus for Windows Desktop: Version 1.8.11 or later.
- Linkus for Mac Desktop: Version 1.8.9 or later.
- Your Linkus has permission to make outbound calls.
- Dial Selected Numbers hotkeys are enabled on your Linkus.
Scenarios
Assume that you are searching products online and want to make a call to consult details. Generally, you need to manually enter the phone number, which may be time-consuming, and you may meet with input error.
In this case, Select & Dial with Hotkey feature can help you quickly start a call. You only need to select the phone number, and press the preconfigured hotkeys. The phone number will be automatically pasted on Linkus Dialpad and dialed out automatically.
Configure Select & Dial with Hotkey
- Enable and configure hotkeys of Dial Selected Number

- On Linkus, go to .
- Select the checkbox of Dial Selected Number.
- To change the default hotkeys, move your cursor to the Dial Selected Number field, and press the new hotkeys on keyboard.
- Decide whether to dial out immediately or not

By default, Linkus places the call immediately after you select the phone number and press the Dial Selected Number hotkeys. If you want to edit the phone number before dialing out, you can disable Dial out immediately setting on Linkus.
- On Linkus, go to .
- Change the Dial out immediately settings according to your needs.
Note: The Dial out immediately setting also affects Yeastar Click to Call extension.
Start a call by hotkeys
- Select a phone number from anywhere on your computer.
- Press the Dial Selected Number hotkeys.
Note: The phone number will be automatically filtered (only “#”, “+”, “*”, and number will be kept) and pasted on Dialpad.
- For Mac OS, you need to authorize Linkus App to control your computer.
- On the pop-up window, click Open System Preferences.
- On the bottom left, click Click the lock to make changes.
- Select the checkbox of Linkus.
Does Linkus support video calls?
Linkus doesn’t support video calls.
Why can’t I receive calls on Linkus?
- Check if your Linkus client is connected to the Linkus server.
- Check your presence status on Linkus.
- If you choose Do Not Disturb status, you cannot receive any calls.
- If you choose other presence status, check the Ring Strategy settings and Call Forwarding settings.
Why can’t I receive Linkus notifications on Android phone?
- Check if your PBX can access Google.
Log in the PBX web interface, go to
, enterwww.google.com
to check if the PBX can access Google. - Check if Google Play Service is enabled on your Android phone.
How to make a blind transfer?
During a call, you can directly transfer the ongoing call to a third-party without consultation.

Example:
- Bella and Angela are in a call.
- Bella wants to transfer the call to Daisy.
- During the call, click
, the Blind Transfer screen appears.
At this moment, Angela is held on the call.
- On the pop-up window, enter Daisy’s extension number.
- Click
to call Daisy.
The call between Bella and Angela will disconnect immediately, and Daisy’s phone is ringing.
Linkus for Mobile
Example:
- Bella and Angela are in a call.
- Bella wants to transfer the call to Daisy.
- During the call, click
, the Blind Transfer screen appears.
At this moment, Angela is held on the call.
- On the top right corner, tap Attended to switch to blind transfer mode.
- On the Transfer Screen, enter Daisy’s phone number and tap
to blindly transfer the call to Daisy.
The call between Angela and Bella will disconnect immediately, and Daisy’s phone is ringing.
How to make an attended transfer?
During a call, you can transfer the ongoing call to a third party after the third-party answers the call.
Linkus for PC
Example:
- Bella and Angela are in a call.
- Bella wants to transfer the call to Daisy.
- During the call, click
, the Attended Transfer screen appears.
At this moment, Angela is held on the call.
- On the pop-up window, enter Daisy’s extension number.
- Click
to call Daisy.
If Daisy answers the call, Bella can tell Daisy that the call will be transferred.
- Click Transfer to transfer the call.
The call between Angela and Daisy is established.
Linkus for Mobile
Example:
- Bella and Angela are in a call.
- Bella wants to transfer the call to Daisy.
- During the call, tap
, the Transfer screen appears.
At this moment, Angela is held on the call.
- On the Transfer Screen, enter Daisy’s phone number and tap
to call Daisy.
If Daisy answers the call, Bella can tell Daisy that the call will be transferred.
- Tap Transfer to transfer the call.
The call between Angela and Daisy is established.
How to handle Call Waiting?
With Call Waiting feature enabled, when you receive a new incoming call during an active call, you can decide whether to accept the new call or not.
Handle a new incoming call
: Answer the new call and end the current call.
: Answer the new call and hold the current call.
: Reject the new call.

How to call a contact’s mobile number?
To call an external number from Linkus, you should dial the number according to the outbound rules of your PBX.
If the PBX administrator assigns you an outbound permission that allows you to call external numbers directly, you can call from Linkus.
For example, you have outbound permission as below. The “Local” outbound route allows you to call any number, so you can directly call from Linkus.

- On the Extension list, right click a contact.
- Select Call Mobile Phone.
- Select an outbound route to call out.
Linkus for Mobile
- Select a mobile number, and long press
.
- Tap Dial through PBX.
- Select an outbound route to call out.
How to add prefix to a number?
You can add prefix to a contact number or a number in call history, then utilize the number to call out without adding new entries.
Note:
- Prefix-adding operation is only supported on Linkus Mobile Client.
- Make sure that the PBX server allows outbound numbers start with the prefix.
In this example, we show you how to add prefix 0 to a contact number, and call out from Linkus.

- Choose a mobile number, and long press

- Select Dial through PBX.
- Select the pre-configured prefix.
Linkus will add the prefix to the number, then call out.
How to answer calls via Bluetooth headset?
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Pair your Bluetooth headset to your phone.
- Follow the instructions that came with the Bluetooth headset to put it in discovery mode.

- In the DEVICES list, tap the Bluetooth headset to connect.
- Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone, tap the Bluetooth headset to connect.
- When a Linkus call comes, you can answer the call via the connected Bluetooth headset.
How to enable Car Bluetooth?
With Car Bluetooth enabled, if the car bluetooth is connected to Linkus, you can answer or hang up incoming calls on the car screen.

Will my mobile phone pay for the external calls?
No. You don’t need to pay for the external calls if you call through Linkus.
The PBX trunk will pay for the external calls.
Which audio codec does Linkus support?
Linkus uses iLBC codec. The iLBC codec has high quality and high robustness to packet loss.
